Wüsthof is the first knife manufacturer to offer black, fully forged, DLC-finished knives. The diamond-like carbon finish was developed to withstand the toughest conditions: the amorphous carbon layer, just a few micrometers thick, increases the surface hardness of the Wüsthof blades from 58 to a unique 104 Rockwell. This makes them resistant to acids, alkalis, extreme temperatures and general wear and tear – even scratches don't stand a chance.
